چکیده

We introduce a new reflection principle which we call “Fodor-type Reflection Principle” (FRP). This principle follows from but is strictly weaker than Fleissner’s Axiom R. For instance, FRP does not impose any restriction on the size of the continuum, while Axiom R implies that the continuum has size ≤ א2. We show that FRP implies that every locally separable countably tight topological space X is meta-Lindelöf if all of its subspaces of cardinality ≤ א1 are (Theorem 4.3). It follows that, under FRP, every locally (countably) compact space is metrizable if all of its subspaces of cardinality ≤ א1 are (Corollary 4.4). This improves a result of Balogh who proved the same assertion under Axiom R. Date: April 20, 2009 (22:21 JST) 2000 Mathematical Subject Classification: 03E35, 03E65, 54D20, 54D45, 54E35

Response of GN Type II and Type III Theories on Reflection and Transmission Coefficients at the Boundary Surface of Micropolar Thermoelastic Media with Two Temperatures

In the present article, the reflection and transmission of plane waves at the boundary of thermally conducting micropolar elastic media with two temperatures is studied. The theory of thermoelasticity with and without energy dissipation is used to investigate the problem. The expressions for amplitudes ratios of reflected and transmitted waves at different angles of incident wave are obtained. ...

Theoretical Investigation of Doping Concentration in Silicon Semiconductor Using Optical Principle

This paper investigates the amount of doping concentration in silicon semiconductor using optical principle.  Both donor and acceptor impurities of n type and p-type silicon semiconductor materials are computed at wavelength of 1550 nm. During the computation of donor and acceptor impurities, both reflection and absorption losses are considered. Theoretical result showed that transmitted intens...

ABCD matrix for reflection and refraction of laser beam at tilted concave and convex elliptic paraboloid interfaces and studying laser beam reflection from a tilted concave parabola of revolution

Studying Gaussian beam is a method to investigate laser beam propagation and ABCD matrix is a fast and simple method to simulate Gaussian beam propagation in different mediums. Of the ABCD matrices studied so far, reflection and refraction matrices at various surfaces have attracted a lot of researches. However in previous work the incident beam and the principle axis of surface are in parallel...

Impact of Initial Stress on Reflection and Transmission of SV-Wave between Two Orthotropic Thermoelastic Half-Spaces

Reflection and transmission of plane waves between two initially stressed thermoelastic half-spaces with orthotropic type of anisotropy is studied. Incidence of a SV-type wave from the lower half-space is considered and the amplitude ratios of the reflected and transmitted SV-wave, P-wave and thermal wave are obtained by using appropriate boundary conditions. Numerical computation for a particu...
